Steam Iron Plastic Water Tank Mould and Moulding Service
Steam Iron Plastic Water Tank Mould and Moulding Service
Product Overview
Steam Iron Plastic Water Tank Mould and Moulding Service is used for manufacturing precision plastic water tanks designed for steam irons. The water tank stores the water required for steam generation and is an important internal component of the steam iron water-management system.
The water tank can be manufactured according to specific tank capacity, overall dimensions, wall thickness, water inlet, outlet and valve interfaces, mounting points, internal clearances, sealing surfaces, transparency or colour requirements, material, and steam iron design using precision plastic injection moulding.
Key Features
Precision-moulded plastic water tank
Designed for steam iron water-storage systems
Customized water capacity
Accurate inlet and outlet interfaces
Leak-resistant construction
Customized mounting points
Integrated ribs and support structures
Lightweight and durable design
Good dimensional stability
Water-resistant material options
Industrial Applications
Steam Iron Plastic Water Tanks are used in:
Household steam irons
Garment steam ironing appliances
Steam iron water reservoirs
Dry and steam iron assemblies
Garment-care appliances
Fabric-care equipment
Professional ironing equipment
Portable steam ironing appliances
Home electrical appliances
Manufacturing Process
The Steam Iron Plastic Water Tank is manufactured using the plastic injection moulding process. Selected plastic granules are fed into an injection moulding machine and heated to the required processing temperature.
The molten plastic is injected into a precision-engineered mould cavity containing the required tank shape, internal volume, mounting features, water inlet and outlet interfaces, and sealing areas. Controlled cooling allows the plastic to solidify into the required tank geometry.
After cooling, the mould opens and the finished water tank is ejected. The moulded tank is inspected for capacity, dimensions, wall thickness, mounting accuracy, water-interface dimensions, sealing surfaces, surface finish, flash, sink marks, warpage, and leakage resistance.
Mould Manufacturing Process
The mould is designed according to the required product drawing or 3D CAD model. Particular attention is given to the tank cavity, internal volume, wall thickness, water inlet and outlet ports, mounting points, ribs, sealing surfaces, draft angles, parting line, cooling channels, and ejection mechanism.
Suitable mould steel such as P20, H13, or S136 can be selected according to production volume, component complexity, mould life, and required surface finish.
Mould components are manufactured using CNC machining, EDM, drilling, grinding, polishing, and precision fitting. After mould assembly, trial moulding is performed to verify filling, cooling, ejection, dimensions, tank capacity, water-interface accuracy, sealing performance, surface appearance, and assembly compatibility.
Raw Materials
Suitable materials may include:
PP
HDPE
PC
ABS
PBT
Nylon
PETG where suitable for the application
Engineering-grade plastics
Heat-resistant plastic grades
Food-contact or water-contact compliant grades where required
Material selection depends on water contact, temperature exposure, impact resistance, chemical resistance, dimensional stability, transparency requirements, and durability.
Quality Control
The Water Tank can be inspected for:
Overall dimensions
Tank capacity
Wall thickness
Water inlet dimensions
Water outlet dimensions
Valve interface
Sealing-surface accuracy
Mounting-hole positions
Internal rib dimensions
Surface finish
Product weight
Flash and burrs
Warpage
Cracks and sink marks
Water leakage
Assembly compatibility
Production Capacity
Production capacity depends on mould cavity count, injection moulding machine capacity, product weight, cycle time, cooling time, plastic material, and machine operating efficiency.
For example, a 2-cavity mould operating with a 50-second cycle time can theoretically produce approximately 144 pieces per hour, before accounting for downtime, inspection, material changes, and other production losses.
Actual production capacity depends on the final water tank design, mould configuration, machine specifications, material, and operating conditions.
Buyer Guide
When ordering a Steam Iron Plastic Water Tank Mould and Moulding Service, buyers should provide the product drawing or 3D CAD model, required tank capacity, external dimensions, wall thickness, water inlet and outlet dimensions, valve interfaces, mounting points, sealing requirements, internal component clearances, operating temperature, plastic material, colour or transparency requirements, expected production quantity, and assembly specifications.
These details help determine the appropriate mould design, mould steel, cavity configuration, plastic material, and injection moulding machine.
