Manufacturing Process
1. Product Design & Development
The CT Scan Machine Plastic Part is developed according to the customer's CAD drawing, 3D model, physical sample, existing equipment component, or assembly requirements. The design is reviewed for dimensions, wall thickness, mounting interfaces, internal clearances, cable routing, ventilation, component fitment, and service requirements.
For large housing panels and complex curved components, special attention is given to dimensional stability, surface quality, warpage, shrinkage, and assembly alignment.
2. Plastic Mould Design
The injection mould is designed according to the individual component geometry. The mould can incorporate cores, inserts, sliders, lifters, ejector systems, cooling channels, runners, gates, draft angles, and parting lines according to component complexity.
For large covers, panels, curved housings, grilles, and thin-wall components, mould-flow and cooling considerations can be used to help control warpage, sink marks, weld lines, short shots, and dimensional variation.
3. Mould Manufacturing
Mould components are manufactured using suitable mould steels such as P20 Steel, H13 Steel, or S136 Steel, depending on production quantity, selected plastic material, required mould life, component complexity, and surface-finish requirements.
CNC machining, EDM, drilling, grinding, polishing, precision fitting, and mould assembly are used to achieve the required cavity and core geometry.
4. Injection Moulding
The selected plastic material is processed using controlled injection moulding parameters. Injection temperature, filling speed, pressure, holding pressure, cooling time, and cycle parameters are adjusted according to the plastic grade and component design.
Controlled processing helps maintain dimensional accuracy, mounting-feature position, surface quality, wall thickness, and repeatable assembly fitment.
5. Finishing & Assembly Preparation
After moulding, plastic components are inspected for flash, sink marks, short shots, warpage, sharp edges, gate marks, and surface imperfections. Gate trimming and finishing are performed where required.
Components can be prepared for printing, labelling, texture, decorative finishing, gasket installation, or assembly with other CT scanner components according to customer requirements.
6. Quality Inspection
Finished CT Scan Machine Plastic Parts are checked according to their individual function and assembly requirements. Inspection can include dimensional measurement, mounting-feature verification, surface inspection, internal-clearance checking, housing fitment, and trial assembly.
Functional inspection can also be performed for components such as covers, clips, handles, cable guides, ventilation grilles, sliding parts, and access panels.
Raw Materials
| Material | Suitable Applications |
|---|---|
| ABS | General housings, panels, covers, bezels, and enclosure components |
| PC+ABS | Components requiring improved impact resistance and dimensional performance |
| PC | Components requiring higher impact and thermal performance |
| PP | Lightweight covers, ducts, clips, and suitable enclosure components |
| HIPS | Cost-effective rigid housing and cover applications |
| PBT | Components requiring dimensional stability and mechanical performance |
| Nylon / PA | Brackets, clips, guides, handles, and mechanically loaded components |
| POM | Selected low-friction guides, sliding components, gears, and mechanical interfaces |
| Flame-Retardant ABS | Components requiring specified flame-performance characteristics |
| Flame-Retardant PC+ABS | Enclosures and components requiring enhanced flame-performance characteristics |
| Engineering-Grade Plastic | Applications requiring specific mechanical, thermal, wear, or dimensional properties |
The final plastic grade should be selected according to the component's mechanical load, operating temperature, chemical exposure, wear, dimensional requirements, surface finish, flame-performance requirements, and applicable medical-equipment specifications.
