Manufacturing Process

1. Product Design & Development

The X-Ray Machine Plastic Access Cover is developed according to the customer's CAD drawing, 3D model, physical sample, equipment housing, or service-access requirements. The design is reviewed for opening dimensions, cover profile, mounting method, removal frequency, internal component clearance, cable and connector access, and surrounding housing interfaces.

Where the cover is intended for regular servicing, the retention and removal method can be designed to provide practical access while maintaining secure fitment during normal equipment operation.

2. Plastic Mould Design

The injection mould is designed around the complete access-cover geometry, including the cover profile, mounting bosses, screw holes, clips, snap-fits, locating ribs, retaining lips, handles, hinges, and access features.

Parting lines, gate locations, draft angles, cooling channels, ejector arrangements, and shrinkage allowances are optimized for consistent production. Large or flat access covers require balanced filling and cooling to minimize warpage, sink marks, bowing, and dimensional variation.

3. Mould Manufacturing

Mould components are manufactured using suitable mould steels such as P20 Steel, H13 Steel, or S136 Steel, depending on production quantity, selected plastic material, required mould life, surface-finish requirements, and component complexity.

CNC machining, EDM, grinding, polishing, precision fitting, and mould assembly are used to achieve accurate cavity and core geometry.

4. Injection Moulding

The selected plastic material is processed through controlled injection moulding parameters. Injection temperature, filling speed, pressure, holding pressure, cooling time, and cycle time are adjusted according to the selected plastic grade and access-cover geometry.

Controlled processing helps maintain cover flatness, mounting accuracy, access-opening fitment, wall thickness, surface appearance, and consistent assembly with the equipment housing.

5. Finishing & Assembly Preparation

After moulding, access covers are inspected for flash, gate marks, sharp edges, sink marks, short shots, warpage, and surface imperfections. Gate marks and unwanted edges are removed where required.

Where specified, the cover can be prepared for printing, labelling, texture, hinge installation, or other finishing operations. Trial assembly can be performed with the corresponding housing to verify installation, removal, retention, and internal clearance.

6. Quality Inspection

Finished X-Ray Machine Plastic Access Cover components are checked for overall dimensions, profile, opening fitment, mounting features, retention, wall thickness, surface finish, and housing alignment.

Functional inspection can include cover installation and removal, screw or clip engagement, service access, internal clearance, and repeated removal cycles where applicable.

Raw Materials

MaterialSuitability for X-Ray Machine Plastic Access Cover
ABSSuitable for rigid access covers requiring good appearance and dimensional stability
PC+ABSSuitable where improved impact resistance and dimensional performance are required
PCSuitable where higher impact and heat resistance are required
PPLightweight option for suitable removable access covers
PBTSuitable where dimensional stability and mechanical performance are important
Nylon / PASuitable where higher mechanical strength and durability are required
Flame-Retardant ABSSuitable where specified flame-performance requirements apply
Flame-Retardant PC+ABSSuitable where enhanced fire-performance characteristics are required
