Manufacturing Process

1. Product Design & Development

The switch panel is developed according to the flour mill's switch arrangement, control functions, button dimensions, display requirements, wiring layout, and main housing geometry. Switch openings, mounting points, wall thickness, draft angles, ribs, bosses, cable clearances, and user-facing surfaces are considered during product development.

2. Plastic Mould Design

The injection mould is designed according to the switch panel geometry. The cavity, core, parting line, gate location, runner system, cooling channels, venting, and ejection arrangement are planned to achieve accurate formation of switch openings, mounting features, ribs, bosses, and surface details.

3. Mould Manufacturing

The mould can be manufactured using suitable tool steel such as P20 Steel, H13 Steel, or S136 Steel, depending on production volume, required mould life, dimensional requirements, and surface finish. CNC machining, EDM, grinding, polishing, fitting, and mould assembly are carried out as required.

4. Injection Moulding

The selected thermoplastic material is heated and injected into the mould cavity under controlled processing conditions. Injection pressure, melt temperature, holding pressure, cooling time, and cycle time are adjusted according to the selected material and panel geometry.

5. Finishing & Assembly Preparation

After moulding, gates and excess plastic are removed where applicable. The switch panel is inspected for clean openings, mounting features, surface finish, and proper alignment with the switches, buttons, display elements, and main flour mill housing.

6. Quality Inspection

Finished switch panels are inspected for dimensional accuracy, switch-opening positions, mounting locations, surface quality, warpage, flash, and proper fitment with the intended control assembly.

Raw Materials

MaterialTypical Application
ABSRigid control panels with good surface appearance
PPLightweight panels requiring suitable flexibility
HIPSEconomical control-panel applications
PC+ABSApplications requiring a balance of impact strength and dimensional stability
PBTApplications requiring dimensional and thermal stability
Nylon/PAApplications requiring higher mechanical strength
POM/AcetalSelected applications involving low-friction moving interfaces
PCApplications requiring higher impact resistance and specific performance characteristics
Flame-Retardant PlasticApplications requiring enhanced fire-performance characteristics, subject to specification

The final plastic grade should be selected according to the switch-panel structure, operating temperature, repeated-use requirements, electrical environment, dimensional stability, surface requirements, and overall appliance design. Where specific electrical insulation or flame-performance characteristics are required, the selected material should be validated against the applicable product specifications.

Quality Control

  • Raw Material Inspection: Plastic grade, colour, and incoming material condition are checked before production.

  • Mould Inspection: Cavity, core, parting surfaces, cooling system, venting, and ejection arrangement are inspected.

  • Dimensional Inspection: Overall dimensions, switch openings, mounting points, wall thickness, and critical interfaces are checked.

  • Visual Inspection: Components are checked for flash, short shots, sink marks, warpage, flow marks, burn marks, scratches, and other moulding defects.

  • Switch Fitment Inspection: Switch openings and mounting areas are checked against the specified switches and buttons.

  • Assembly Inspection: The panel is checked for proper integration with the buttons, display or indicators, wiring access, and flour mill housing.

  • Packaging Inspection: Finished panels are packed appropriately to minimize scratches, deformation, dust, and handling damage.

Buyer Guide

When sourcing an Electric Flour Mill Plastic Switch Panel Mould and Moulding Service, buyers should provide the switch-panel dimensions, switch and button arrangement, display or indicator requirements, main housing interface, mounting points, wiring-access requirements, 2D engineering drawing or 3D CAD model, preferred plastic grade, colour, surface finish, markings if required, and expected production quantity.

For new product development, special attention should be given to switch-opening accuracy, button clearance and travel, mounting and retention, control-panel alignment, wiring access, surface finish, operating temperature, electrical environment, and integration with the main flour mill housing.
